EPK bio · from David Goodrich's artist profile
David Goodrich (also known as Dave Goodrich) is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer based in the Arlington and Fredericksburg, Virginia area. Born in Washington, D.C., he spent part of his childhood in Mexico City, where he began exploring music early—first on drums using household pots and pans, then piano with his mother at age four, and later trumpet and guitar by age twelve.
After high school he studied music at San Francisco State University and performed around the Bay Area in venues such as Berkeley Square, the Chi-Chi Club, and Mabuhay Gardens. In the mid-1980s he returned to Washington, D.C., and joined the alternative pop trio Mind’s i. The group played local clubs including the 9:30 Club, the Roxy, DC Space, and the Bayou, and released the album A House Defiled in 1988, which received a Washington Area Music Award nomination.
Since becoming a solo artist in 1990, Goodrich has focused on original material that draws from rock, blues, pop, Motown, and Americana. His recordings have appeared in more than 100 television programs across multiple networks and continents, including shows associated with Oprah Winfrey and Martha Stewart. He has released several albums and EPs, among them 15 Minutes, Stripped Away, and more recent singles such as “Feel Free” and “Velvet Swirl.”
He continues to perform regularly as a solo acoustic act at Virginia wineries, markets, and private events. Recent and upcoming dates include DuCard Vineyards in Etlan, Ferlazzo 1938 in Culpeper, West Main Market in Luray, and various private engagements around Charlottesville and the surrounding region. In addition to live performance, he produces, coaches other musicians, and hosts a podcast focused on practical aspects of a music career. He remains active as a working musician in the greater Washington and northern Virginia area, balancing original songwriting with consistent live appearances.
